THE MEN'S CORNER - STANDOUT TRENDS THIS SUMMER

I've hardly given any word space to the male species so far in my blog. How unfair on the other half of the Adam- Eve pairing have I been!
Let me make it up to all the wonderful men who do give a hoot about fashion and trends.
Here's some good piece of advice for the men and the boys that I have known and will know in future as better dressed species with a little help from COLOSSAL CLOSET.

This summer was all about re-inventing darling in a subtle yet pertinent manner. The guys' wardrobe was taking a cue from the common trends this spring summer and experimenting with the glares,the shorts ,the bold prints,over sized tees and the sandals.
Since summer will stay for another month or so here, let me take you in quickly through the top five season trends that you can still indulge in just in case you missed them out scouts.

1) THE BOLD PRINT STATEMENT

When looking to separate your outfit from the rest of the crowd, a bold, on trend print is a great place to start. So, forget all about accent accessories and subtle detailing this summer and instead opt for a patterned shirt, jumper, t-shirt or pair of trousers. Yet, as always, the key is to keep the rest of your look fuss-free and neutral. By pairing your printed item with classic wardrobe staples not only will you avoid creating a patterned mess, but you will also allow your statement piece to take centre stage.








2) SHORTY SHORTS

The Bermudas and long boxers can well be stashed away for a while. The short short trend seems to be ruling the 'him' roost. Of course one has to keep in mind one's body type and built to experiment with the shorts this summer ,  but well ,the ladies can't be complaining. Even they deserve to drool over a pair of good toned legs sometime.  
Team them up with blazers, fitted or oversized tees, bomber jackets or plain vests, and you are set to style the bottoms up!


3) SANDALS

Sandals have been for the longest time a statement for the laid back.
However, this season the summer sandal is fighting off the stigma and looking to earn its rightful place in the style-conscious gent’s wardrobe.
Perfect for holidaying and high summer, sandals are a refined choice that can be dressed up or down for a variety of occasions. Highly versatile, opt for a timeless pair in black or brown leather and you can combine them with everything from lightweight tailoring to a simple shorts and vest combination.


4) THE REFLECTIVE GLARES

Yes. Apart from being extremely bold and eye catching, the reflectors or the mirrored glasses have made a splash this season and are the most sought after eye wear trend for the style conscious. Not just aviators or wayfarers but the round frames, the asymmetric, the  retro circulars and the D frames are all reflecting bold greens ,blues ,yellows and reds in glaring glory. Chose the best ones according to your facial shape and comfort.


5) THE OVER SIZED TEE

You are not a rapper or a basket ball player but you want the style, the swag and the comfort.
Head out with an oversized tee preferably in some solid color this season and feel the rockstar power it can unleash.
The key is to team it up right. Layer it, wear it over fitted denims, chinos or funky shorts.Over sized tees are the ones to be seen in.

So if you don't want to blend in the back ground boys, take my advice and ape these trends with your personal touch of course. Rock the remaining summer and stay connected!
