The Movie TALVAR by the thinking man's producer Vishal Bhardwaj and directed by the talented MEGHNA GULZAR is as close to reality as it can get. release this FRIDAY. All set to release this Friday, 2nd October 2015, the movie is a very neutral, fictional dramatization of the DOUBLE MURDER CASE OF 2008 which rocked Noida and the rest of the nation hard. Starring  Irrfan, Konkona Sensharma, Neeraj Kabi, Atul Kumar, Gajraj Rao and Sohum Shah in main roles, it has some very intelligently handled and portrayed facts of the case brought to light.

Seven years back, the nation was shocked and shamed by the AARUSHI and HEMRAJ double murder case. Every middle class family..all the parents..all of humanity was running for cover. Cover from the system, the circumstances and the impending tragedy, the fear of which looms large universally. It happened to a normal family, people like you and me. They just woke up one fine day to find that the world has come to an end. At least for them.

The movie has shown FACTS. It has very closely re created the exact happenings and developments, rather, mis-developments of the case. The actors have done full justice to the roles and Irrfan Khan impresses all over again. And so do all the other actors. They have been recreated as logically close to reality as can get. The fictionalization is subtle and effective. The movie isn't fast paced but one never loses interest as the EMOTIONAL CONNECT is unbelievable.

The entire investigation, starting from the UP Police to the CBI has been shown quiet intricately. The viewer can sense the stress and the pain about the entire situation. The story of Irffan's character looks as real as a movie can be. He plays his part effortlessly. The situations are shown in multiple viewpoints giving the audience a glimpse into the many viewpoints that are and can be considered around the same situation. Like I said, the movie is generally non opinionated with all the perspectives given equal screen time and value.

The over all tone however is that of sadness. Sadness over the legal system and its many many layers of manipulations, red tapism and sheer ignorance. It proves how JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED. One can't help but feel a bit lost in the gravity of the situation. Accusations on the 14 year old girl's character, her supposed illicit relationship with the murdered domestic help.... It was dirty and it was mishandled clearly. The story was splashed all over the media, it was sensationalized beyond limits. It could happen to anyone. Really.

The parents were blamed, they are behind the bars now..no one knows the real story. Is the life term they are serving justified? Who killed Aarushi Talvar? The parents or Hemraj or someone else? No one knows, no one will know. It's a lost case. To have a better perspective, don't forget to watch #TalvarThisFriday. Its intelligent cinema, its reatime drama ...entertainment that makes you sit back and introspect.

 Colossal Closet sincerely recommends.
