TRAVEL DIARIES- THE PINK CITY LOVE

Its been a few weeks that I came back from my short and sweet weekend retreat from the very beautiful city of JAIPUR. The capital city of the heritage rich state RAJASTHAN , Jaipur is truly a traveller's delight. Although it is my 6th trip here,The rich historical forts, palaces and the simplicity of the people in this princely city left me dazzled and mesmerized all over again.
Its almost  6 hours drive away from Delhi and is easily one of the most popular lil vacay break from this maddening Delhi life. Pure bliss while it lasted.

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION ACCORDING TO LORD GOOGLE-

"Jaipur, the largest city of Rajasthan is an epitome of magnificence and vibrancy. This city was established in 1727 by Jai Singh II, and is India's first planned city. Jaipur was the capital of former Kachwaha rulers and it so presents itself as a versatile tourist destination. This royal place is rich in heritage, culture and architecture. With splendid fortresses, majestic palaces, tranquil temples and beautiful havelis; Jaipur turns out to be an ideal tourist destination. It is not just the royal buildings and palaces that this city offers. Other than these captivating attractions, Jaipur displays exquisite handicrafts and spectacular jewellery. These intricate works of art add life and colour to this Pink City's uniqueness. Also, the serenity of lush gardens and floral array acts as the cherry on the cake of fabulous landscapes. All this make a picturesque view that tends to enthrall any visitor."

WOW!
My trip would exactly echo of these very sentiments really.

Let me share with you my personal memories and some beautiful snippets of this awesome trip that I shared with my family in the pretty pink town.

Dressing up wasn't really on my mind for this little trip. I packed in some easy clothes and a Pair of my favorite sneakers and that was it. The basic gear- sunblock, shades and a big tote was basically all the accessories that I needed for a BREAK.

THE STAY

HOTEL VESTA MAURYA
 POOLSIDE

 VIEW FROM THE ROAD

HOTEL TERRACE GARDEN
The entire city was visible from this height and the scene was quiet something!

We stayed at a plush 3 star accommodation and made the most of our pool and recreation room. The food luckily was good everywhere we tried..Jaipur ki lassi and kulfi were damn good! All we could really think of besides the sight seeing was EATING! Chaat , Rajma rice and what not! Seriously a foodie paradise it is. All sorts of cuisines were available in the city. From Mughalai to Chinese to Thai and South Indian. And the patisseries around our hotel were a delight!

SIGHT SEEING

HAWA MAHAL

JANTAR MANTAR

 AMER FORT

CHOWKHI DHANI

NAHARGARH FORT

Amer fort, Jantar Mantar, Jal Mahal, Chokhi Dhani, The many markets such as Johri bazar et al were on our iternary in these two days. It was great fun grabbing a bit of history and culture with the family. It was a pleasant break away from the MALL and LOUNGE visits that seem to be only recreation left for us while in the city. Feels good to connect to your roots.

Jaipur attracts tourists from all over the world. It has a legacy of some brave kings, some mighty battles and some fascinating stories.
It's a city that has something for everyone -the kids, youth, the married couples and the elderly.
Be here when the speed of Delhi is waiting to gobble you up..a little refreshing trip to this almost neighbors town will make a sea of a difference in your life.
And if shopping dazzles you as much as it dazzles me,then this city will be your lover with its spread of options in traditional and modern fashion.

SHOPPING

The Bandhani definitely attracted me no end. So a beautiful bright skirt was something that I fell for besides some stunning colorful bangles.

The visit was an amazing and much needed get away. Two weeks later, It somehow seems like a very far off memory already..

TRAVELLING IS TRULY LIVING.And I plan to make this motto my life goal for the rest of it at least.
