WINTER FASHION IDEAS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS IN COLLEGE

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! A very very happy new year to you all and I hope you have an amazing year full of joy and success!

As the New Year 2016 dawns on us, so does the WINTER SEASON. I personally love winter just because I am a huge fan of winter layering. I find it very rich and luxurious. All the fur, the boots, the jackets and the parkas, its an exciting time for fashion. If you are In college, it becomes a little difficult though because you need to show something new each day but you can't really invest in all too much expensive winter gear because lets face it, winter lasts only 2-3 months and summer wear is far more cheap and re-usable. So play with the layering options and stay stylish even as you brave the NORTH INDIAN cold.

Here are a few fashion ideas for both boys and girls to dress up for winters in college and stay stylish!

GIRLS

Play with accessories and don't let the colors drown you. You can totally rock any plain jacket when you play it up with your scarves, mufflers, mittens, boleros, caps and boots.

OVERSIZED SWEATERS

Team them up with leggings and boots and look like a star!

2. CAPES

Blanket yourself from the cold and ace this latest trend in college. You will leave the boys swooning and the girls jealous!

3. PLAIDS

I love plaids! Be it plaid mufflers, coats or the stunning plaid coordinates, you can just style them and look comfortable and warm.

4. LEATHER JACKETS

For the biker chic look, a black leather jacket keeps you snug ans sexy! Team it up with pants, dresses or denims, they lift up a dull day like nothing else!

5. SKIRTS AND SWEATSHIRTS

Nothing defines cool college glam than a sweatshirt thrown over a  short skirt! you can totally wear stockings, leggings and long socks to beat the cold and yet look cute and lively in college.

6. PULLOVERS AND CARDIGANS

Ace the casual chic look with some cool cardigans and pullovers. You can wear them over your denims and shirts, over your skirts and even your suits.

WINTER FASHION FOR BOYS

1. VARSITY JACKETS

These are currently a rage and I personally think they make for the best college wear statement with denims and chinos.

2. DENIM DAZE

Do the double denim or just wear a denim jacket with beige pants. You look effortlessly stylish and refreshing!

3. CARDIGANS AND PULLOVERS

Again a metrosexual must have that make every guy look dapper and cool. They are comfortable and hug a fit built body well. Wear cardigans over t-shirts and pullovers over shirts for the Uber man's style statement.

4. ANKLE LENGTH SHOES AND ESPADRILLES

Footwear fashion is also an essential part of dressing up. Besides the sneakers, moccasins and loafers, there are espadrilles and ankle length boots that you can use to lift up your winter look. On slightly warmer days, roll up your pants and wear espadrilles with your shirts and denims. They look extremely cool and lend an uncanny swagger.Ankle length boots look good on slightly formal days and with leather jackets.

5. LEATHER JACKETS

Like a black leather jacket is an essential for girls, a tan jacket is my pick for boys. It looks absolutely dapper and lends a distinct class to an entire look.

POINTERS TO KEEP IN MIND FOR COLLEGE FASHION IN WINTER-

- Do not try to show off in college, its not a party ground, its an educational premise.

- While you may want to look fashionable, compromising on comfort is a strict no-no.

- Accessories can lift up any winter look. Scarves, caps, beanies, sunnies, bags, boots are a great way to add playfulness and color to your look.

- Be yourself, trying to ape someone doesn't make you fashionable, it makes you a wannabe.

- Exercise modesty: Jeans dipping too low, plunging necklines, short clothes, Bermuda shorts are cool and sexy but not really apt for college wear. They may not really suit everyone's sensibilities. Don't say no to anything, just be aware of how you carry them.  Being fashionable isn't about skin show, its about carrying off any style with elan. Show respect to the institution and also the teachers.

So stride into LPU and make the best of your fashion and mental abilities this season!

FROM OFFICE TO BRUNCH -TWO IN ONE DRESS UP

At the very onset of this post I just want to say YAYIE to girlpower! The corporate scene in Delhi and In fact everywhere else has undergone a massive change over the last few years. We see more and more girls stepping out of the shadow of their parents and the very obvious IMPENDING-SHAADI-THE-MOMENT-YOU-TURN-20 thing and making a life; Building a noteworthy career and touching heights. Its heartening and very very encouraging.

So the very common dilemma that I am sure most of these ladies face(fashion wise) would be switching from their formal corporate avatar to the less formal Brunch or even a casual meeting avatar.
Power suits, sarees, tunics and and other formal wear is ofcourse the norm for dressing up when you are at work but it can be made into a less mundane fun outfit too, with just a few minor changes.

Here is one outfit that you can try for your formal wear as well as a brunch date with colleagues, friends or even your lover. A few little changes here and there ad this one single outfit will see you sift through effortlessly from office to that lounge in style.

OUTFIT FOR OFFICE

TOP

I am wearing a Maroon ZARA turtleneck top. Turtle necks are really trending this season as Autumn approaches and investing in solid blouse like this one is worth your while.

PANTS

My pants are also from Zara. There is a very small Houndstooth pattern running in the fabric weave and the fit as you can see is impeccable. It is OK to wear cropped pants once in a while, especially when you know you may have to move out of the office as well.

FOOTWEAR

Nude heels are a wardrobe essential.  I am wearing a very comfy yet sexy pair of heels in suede which look perfect with this outfit.

A BLAZER

Well, While its fine to be a bit experimental when it comes to dressing out of ordinary, Office wear cannot be too eye catchy. Since this turtle neck top in itself may not work at all times, you can throw in a blazer for that powered up effect. Since the pants are monotone, a structured black blazer would be apt to complete this look.

BAG

A structured black tote with snakeskin pattern is a total rock star with this look.Office girls need big bags to keep all their personal and official stuff so size matters. This Black number is my faithful favorite for any outfit and with this one, it was coordinated perfectly.

BRUNCH LOOK

Thank god you have a break girl! Step up the style-o-meter with this already super hawt look as you add a funky pair of reflective sunnies to make it a more fun look. This head turning look is for those who dare and love themselves! Round sunnies look better on structured faces as they even out the edges.

Give that blazer a skip and get sassy with this Marsala and monochrome outfit!

Here are a few snippets from the CASUAL BRUNCH LOOK-
